After one week of antibiotics for a tick bite, it still itches and it's a little red and firm, what should I do?
Steroid: Rub in a steroid cream. You may have a tube for poison ivy. Otc Hydrocortisone 1% is weak but may be enough. Don't be afraid to rub in several times a day. No need to wash before or after. If not ok in a week, see a dermatologist. Avoid antiseptics and antibiotics. If you have Bacitracin or neosporin do not use on this. Peroxide or alcohol will make it worse. Do not use a bandage.See 1 more doctor answer

Boil: This is probably staphylococcal and will need some antibiotic in addition to drainage. See a doctor and have this tended to before it becomes a severe problem. Good luck.

I have a red bump on my scrotum from a tick bite that happened years ago. The doctor said it was nothing. They medicine they prescribed didn't help.
So, leave it alone..: A bump of years discloses its benign nature so it would be better off to leave it alone without giving additional irritation. Fact: Life is a process of constant struggle to cope with reality, certainty, & uncertainty of daily living for survival, growth, & continuation. But, if still in doubt, see Doc for possible surgical removal to witness nothing is free and everything comes with a price.

Tick bite 2 months ago-nyc area. Took doxycycline. Flu symptoms month later (cough, mucus, chest pain).Site still little red and firm. Should I seek care?
Tick bite: After safe removal of tick, wash hands & wound with soap & hot water. Can relieve pain by use of ice pack. Garlic can be eaten or applied to wound to hasten healing. Tea tree oil relieves itching. Seek medical attention if you develop bullseye (red circle), rash, fever or emesis. Triamcinolone cream is sometimes prescribed to hasten healing.
Tick bite: Before seeking medical attention, you should note the appearance and characteristics of the tick and remove it with fine tweezers, being careful not to rupture the abdomen (if engorged). If bitten by a deer tick, your doctor will either observe and treat if symptoms/signs of disease develop or treat immediately with preventive antibiotics.See 2 more doctor answers
Tick bite: Ice and Hydrocortisone cream work well. If you are certain it's a tick, you should visit your doctor because you can get a disease from ticks called lyme's disease which is very easy to treat right after a tick bite but nearly impossible to get rid of in later stages.See 1 more doctor answer
Very rarely: There are many infections which can result from a tick bite. In the USA, lyme disease is by far the most common tick associated infection. There have been a variety of different eye complaints that lyme disease patients have reported. The medical science behind eye disease and lyme disease is very poorly understood. Several physicians would be needed to confirm a case of lyme related eye disease.See 1 more doctor answer
