See PCP.: Does it matter what you eat? Does a meal high in carbohydrate do this? You may want to see your doctor and have you tested for diabetes . It also sounds like you are very tense and when you relax, your muscle twitches. At any rate, your doctor could rule out other medical conditions which could explain these symptoms. ...Read more

IT MAY BE A SIGN: Your pancreas may be having to produce excess amounts of Insulin to control your meal carbs/sugar spike. I wish Insulin wouldn't lower blood sugar... It would be the best sleep medicine ever. Please see your doctor and review these concerns. ...Read more

Not necessarily bad: It is physiologically normal for the body to slow down and get sleepy after each meal and even want to take a nap. The mexicans got it right when they invented the word "siesta." perfect example of a social norm that mimics how the body slows down after meals and takes a break.
