Serious phlegm in back of throat gagging me, on proton pump inhibitor for GERD no better, could thyroid be causing problems?

Serious phlegm in back of throat gagging me, on proton pump inhibitor for GERD no better, could thyroid be causing problems?

Probably not thyroid: Even if you have an enlarged thyroid, the thyroid grows out, and it is not common for an enlarged thyroid to cause compressive symptoms. This is more likely from the reflux, or something else.

I have a severe headache, earaches, sore throat, stiff neck, and semi productive cough with green phlegm and white froth. What should I do?

You need to be seen.: The symptoms you describe make me want you to be seen in person. Better safe than sorry. You might have a virus, but it could be more serious. Please go to your primary care doctor or an urgent care clinic right away.

Been coughing phlegm for 4weeks wouldn't say I have bad chest pain but strain on neck/throat/chest when I cough. Could it be a chest infection?

Been coughing phlegm for 4weeks wouldn't say I have bad chest pain but strain on neck/throat/chest when I cough. Could it be a chest infection?

Depends: If fevers/chills could be an infection. If no fever/chills and in no more sputum production likely strain from cough for 4weeks...question is why have you had cough for 4 weeks

I got over mono last month and now have a sore throat with clear phlegm and a small bump on the right side of my neck under my jaw. Is it still mono?

I got over mono last month and now have a sore throat with clear phlegm and a small bump on the right side of my neck under my jaw. Is it still mono?

Probably not: When the body fights back at mono the lymph nodes in your neck swell to produce antibodies. The tissue of the throat will need time to heal. Your symptoms sound more like a new irritation - body responding by coating area with phlegm and the lymph node responding with antibodies. Gargle warm salt water and rest. If still a problem after week or rapidly worsening symptoms see MD

Is this the flu or a cold. No fever. Congestion productive cough but with small amount of blood in phlegm. I have a sore throat and neck hurts.

Could be either: Symptoms of flu and routine viral respiratory disease overlap. If it is within the first couple days then get viral cultures for flu and start tamiflu (oseltamivir) if positive to shorten and decrease illness. Otherwise treat symptoms.

Concerned: I always get concerned when someone mentions ear and throat symptoms on the same side as this may be indication of inflammation, ulcer, or tumor of throat. It is good that you have an appointment to see ENT in a couple weeks. Hope it is nothing serious.

With cervical mri can be detected the front of the neck. CervicalMRI came clean, but I have sore throat, phlegm, ear pain, vomiting, burning chest?

With cervical mri can be detected the front of the neck. CervicalMRI came clean, but I have sore throat, phlegm, ear pain, vomiting, burning chest?

Odd question: The symptom pattern is suggestive of GE Reflux (heartburn) and or a throat infection.Your question gave no clue why someone would do a MRI scan.Perhaps you can start over and re-word your question. Questions are not linked so the must make sense on their own.

Is coughing and with phlegm associated with lymphoma? I also have a little lump in neck and been losing weight.

Is coughing and with phlegm associated with lymphoma? I also have a little lump in neck and been losing weight.

See your Doctor: It is not a presenting symptom of lymphoma-cough and phlegm. I noticed several questions from you in this regards. Seems your very much concerned about it and may be stressed out too. Best way is to be seen by your MD and if needed he ca or she can do some work up as well. Once the issue of Lymphoma is ruled out you will be at peace

No fever, nasal congestin subsiding, thick green phlegm coighing up, pain in back of neck by glands, no fever, rattle cough?

No fever, nasal congestin subsiding, thick green phlegm coighing up, pain in back of neck by glands, no fever, rattle cough?

Congestion: Green phlegm does not always mean an acute bacterial infection, i.e. the type in which you need antibiotics. Often smoldering viral infections end in this way. However, if it persists, recurs after symptoms are almost gone, or you begin developing a fever then definitely have it checked. In the meantime, treat the symptoms.

Having a cough with phlegm and nose always seems to be stuffy but no mucus comes out an also a swollen lymph node in neck? Is this a cold? It's been a week and it seems it won't go away.

Could be allergies: Swollen nasal passages often occur with allergies, and drainage can go down the back of your throat causing you to cough up phlegm. Try a steroid nasal spray like Flonase (now available over the counter) plus an antihistamine like loratadine. If still no improvement in 3-4 days, get checked out!

Something is blocking my phlem and mucus from coming up could I have an infection in my throat or neck that's preventing it?

Something is blocking my phlem and mucus from coming up could I have an infection in my throat or neck that's preventing it?

Need more info: The first question is why do you think you have phlegm that needs to come up? If you are having a loose cough and hear rattling in your chest you may have an active infection in your lungs. If however you are feeling a fullness in your throat this may not necessarily be related to an infection and this "globus" sensation may be a manifestation of other conditions such as gerd or thyroid disease.

Sore neck when coughing blood in my phlegm and a lump in my neck had a fever 2 days ago?

Sore neck when coughing blood in my phlegm and a lump in my neck had a fever 2 days ago?

See a doctor: In my humble opinion, any time a person coughs up blood, even in phlegm this warrants an evaluation by a doctor. It could be infection, it could be a growth or a tumor. It could be a posterior nose bleed back down your throat. It is never normal for this to occur, and I would advise you to be seen.
