Thyroid Lobe Hypodense Nodule
Ionized Calcium 4.65, PTH 133, Calcium 10.3, Vitamin D 7, Phosphorus 4.9, recurrent Kidney stones. Thyroid lobe, two parathyroids removed in 2004.
Uncertain: These test results don't add up to a straight forward answer. However, I would be concerned about the possibility of recurrent primary hyperparathyroidism. You should take Vit D to eliminate Vit D deficiency as a cause for high PTH levels. Once this is done, if you still have high PTH with high calcium levels, you have recurrent primary HPTH and will need surgery again. ...Read more
What do you suggest if my friend has a nodule on the right upper lobe & a hypodense lesion on her right thyroid lobe, so does?
My friend has a nodule on the right upper lobe & a hypodense lesion on her right thyroid lobe, so does that mean if she has cancer it is spreading?
Subcentimeter hypodense nodule on left thyroid lobe with coarse focus of calcification---subcentimeter left thyroid nodule.Non-specific in nature.
Thyroid nodules: Most nodules less than 1 cm are not concerning and can be monitored with periodic ultrasounds. Some features such as calcification may heighten concern. Much more information is necessary in your situation. Is there family history of thyroid cancer, personal history of hyper or hypothyroidism, and radiation exposure? You need to discuss this with an endocrinologist and arrange a treatment plan. ...Read more
Watch/retest: Unless you have a thyroid cancer history, the nodule is suspicious on ultrasound or other factors are in play -- check serum thyroglobulin and thyroid function. Repeat doctor's exam an ultrasound in a year. Generally of very low significance and found in over 50% of the population. ...Read more
My left thyroid lobe is slightly enlarged and I have a vascular hypoechoic nodule measuring 5x4x3mm ?
Just follow it: This sounds like something you just watch and see if anything changes. Most often there maybe a new one over the year. Goiters are like that. Small nodular findings are common. Would not worry about it but don't forget about it. It is at this time something to remember it's there. Talk to your doctor ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Hello I have been diagnosed with a small module on my left lower lung. A low density lesion on my liver and a 6mm nodule on my right thyroid lobe. ?
See below: Such multiple findings as you describe are not uncommon on various imaging studies such as CT scans of the chest, abdomen, pelvis that include the thyroid, lung, liver, and kidneys where small sub-centimeter (<10 mm) nodules are commonly noted which are most often benign and clinically insignificant but which often deserve a follow-up study in 6-12 months. You should discuss this with your doctor. ...Read more
