Thyroid High T3 Low T4 High Tsh
My thyroid panel shows low T3 (liothyronine) (29), normal T4 (8.10) and high TSH 3.16. What does this mean
High TSH (7.12) accompanied by low cortisol (1.0). T4 and T3 (liothyronine) normal. What causes this? Mom had thyroid cancer. What tests should be done?
High TSH (mine 9.58 & standard is0.40-4.5), normal free t4(mine 0.9 & standard is0.8-1.8) or T3 (liothyronine) thyroid (mine2.8 & standard 2.3-4.2) can you help?
Any symptoms?: The elevated TSH indicates that your pituitary gland feels that your thyroid level is a little low (despite your thyroid levels being in the normal range for a population of people). This is subclinical hypothyroidism. If you have no symptoms, it is ok to recheck levels in a few months to see if they are better/worse. If you have symptoms of low thyroid, it would be reasonable to start thyroid. ...Read more
What do you suggest if my thyroid tested. the results were high TSH but normal T3 (liothyronine) and t4. I also didn't test for antibodies. what could cause this?
High TSH: This suggests the thyroid is in the early stages of "failing". T4/T3 has not fallen, yet, but the pituitary TSH is working harder to stimulate the thyroid. First, repeat the TSH to make sure not lab error. Do you have hypothyroid symptoms? The cause is probably Hashimotos, even if abs negative. Talk to your doc about whether or not you need to start levothyroxine. ...Read more

High tsh- 5.5. Normal free T3 (liothyronine) & t4. Also normal total t3& t4. What causes this? Pituitary gland issue not thyroid?
May be normal: All lab results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Your TSH is at the upper end of normal and may be normal for you. You may discuss the issue of repeating the test in a year or so. ...Read more
Had high TSH (4.6). Refused Synthroid (thyroxine). Repeat test: Normal TSH (2.4), normal T4 (0.98), elevated T3 (4.8), negative thyroid antibodies. Any concerns?
23 yrs old f; thyroid peroxidase 13 (norm); thyroglobulin, antibody 3.0 (high); TSH 10.850 (high); nomal T3 (liothyronine) & t4. Hashimotos? Possible thyroid cancer
