Separate problems.: The real name for "dandruff" is seborrheic dermatitis. Effective otc shampoos all contain either tar, salicylic acid, zinc pyrithione, selenium sulfide, or a combination of them, so look for those ingredients. Dandruff does not cause hair loss, so that is a separate issue, with many possible causes. Your dermatologist will have to run some tests to determine the cause. ...Read more

My son 2yr old n his hair falling alot no dandruff or wring worm but he's itching not to much his blood work came out nothing wrong with his thyroid ?

My son 2yr old n his hair falling alot no dandruff or wring worm but he's itching not to much his blood work came out nothing wrong with his thyroid
?

Reassuring: The fact his thyroid and blood work are normal is good. The itching is still suspicious for either infection or allergic reaction. Some ring worm infections can be trickier to see and it might be time for a dermatologist to look at the hairs to see if they can find the problem. Diet issues can also cause hair loss as can stress. Let your doctor know you are still worried. Here is some more info- http://www.hairlosstalk.com/hair-loss-children/ ...Read more

I have more hair fall for last 5 months even i don't have dandruff , fever, iron deficiency, thyroid, tension job , please suggest me ?

Few common ones: Severe and prolonged illness, chemo, medication/withdrawal of such (i.E ocps), and following pregnancy are few common examples of causes of hair loss(falling-out). These will grow back in time. U lose about 150 hair per day, but those with longer hair and braid/tie their hair see fall-out more during showering because the fallen hair are still held in tie until release/shower/brushing. Good luck. ...Read more

However, really dry skin can also cause flaking. Seborrheic dermatitis can affect other areas of your body. Recommend that you consider a dermatology evaluation or based on input in your previous question, consider allergy testing. ...Read more
