Thyroid Constant Clearing Of Throat
My thyroid and I already had it remove in 2009 and I want to get tattoos in the future constantly clearing throat ?
Thyroid bone feels strained(no pain) on the left side. Neck muscle tight also. Im constantly clearing my throat, after i clear it feels better. Help?
Confused: There is no thyroid bone. Your thyroid is a soft tissue organ located in front of your windpipe, just below the adams apple. It is unusual for it to hurt. There are many muscles in the neck that can be strained and hurt temporarily. However these should have nothing to do with the need to clear your throat. Many of your symptoms sound like they are anxiety related. ...Read more
Throat Clearing: Unless the thyroid is asymmetric or huge, would not cause throat clearing. I have a 1.4cm nodule on my right lobe. I've been clearing my throat for several days. But I've been spitting out mucus. Is that thyroid related?
No: Small thyroid nodules do not cause any physical pain or sensory changes. Frequent throat clearing is due to a sensation of "globus" usually related to acid reflux or sometimes post nasal drip. Based on the ata 2009 guidelines, this nodule should be evaluated with a fine needle aspiration (biopsy). ...Read more
I have a TSH level of 0.06. I take eltroxin 100mcg. Anything lower I get hives. Sore throat and puffiness when clearing. Thyroid small tho and gerd. ?
Low TSH: The TSH is low. That would imply that your FT4 is high (needs to be measured), which would imply that your levothyroxine dose is too high, or your thyroid is producing some hormone on top of what you are taking in the pill. You and your doctor (perhaps with help of an Endocrinologist) need to figure this out. Long term, it is not healthy to be this way. Bone loss, stress on the heart. ...Read more

After having a partial removal of thyroid, is it normal to feel a constant lump in ones throat? Maybe even feeling like somethings stuck?
I have hypothyroidism and recently have the sensation of something being stuck in my throat constantly, could this be related to my thyroid? Or
It might be: thyroid enlargement, but that is unlikely while you are on replacement. You should NOT, however, be taking Cytomel (liothyronine) which is T3, acts only for several hours, causes excessive thyroid hormone levels, and can't be measured with standard thyroid testing. Use the brand name T4 replacement, such as tirosint, only and make sure your levels are normal. Consider thyroid ultrasound if concerned. ...Read more
Had thyroid us. I felt a constant lump in throat.Have "complex hypoechoic nodule(solid mass) 3.9x1.5x1.1cm (l) & 4.5x1.5x1.4cm (r)." can it be cancer?
Possible: Nodules that size although most often not cancer need to be evaluated further. Bilateral or multiple nodules are more likely to be benign. Next step should be fine needle biopsies (fna). This is just what it sounds like- a small needle placed into the nodule to obtain some cells for pathology. If benign, can leave alone. But if having symptoms simply from size of nodule might still need surgery. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
