What is thyroid antibodies treatment ?And how can we prevent misscariage ?

What is thyroid antibodies treatment ?And how can we prevent misscariage ?

Typically, you don't: If you have grave's than you have to monitor the fetus for a goiter during the 2nd trimester via ultrasound and the mother may need to be treated with additional Methimazole (antithyroid medication). If you have hashimoto's than you will have to monitor the mother's thyroid levels to make sure it is adequately replaced. You don't usually treat the antibody levels. ...Read more

Do i need treatment if my TSH 7.69 high normal free T4 and free T3 and elevated thyroid antibodies?

Do i need treatment if my TSH 7.69 high normal free T4 and free T3 and elevated thyroid antibodies?

Yes: Tsh 7.69 with high tpo is not "high normal" but high and indicates hypothyroidism. Having high tpo indicates autoimmune or hashimoto's thyroiditis. I suggest adding selenium zinc b complex and vitamin c and iodine and avoiding gluten for a month and rechecking levels in a month. If no change then you might need thyroid supplementation. ...Read more

Same treatment: If you are/were hypothyroid and are doing well on replacement medication, knowing the status of your auto-antibodies is not going to change the course of treatment. ...Read more

I have been diagnosed with thyroid antibodies and I feel really unwell I also have rhumatoid is the antibodies making things worse ?

Maybe: Thyroid antibodies do not alone constitute a disease and do not cause symptoms per se. Unless there is thyroid dysfunction antibodies are not making you feel worse. There is no overlap between RA and thyroid disease. True thyroid disease may make any disease seem worse. ...Read more

I've had hypothryoid-like symptoms for a few years now. My TSH is normal but I have thyroid antibodies. Could it still be a thyroid issue?

Probably: The presence of thyroid antibodies makes you more likely to develop a thyroid problem which usually ended up with low thyroid status. Given the normal TSH however no treatment is indicated at this time. Just follow-up. ...Read more

My thyroid antibodies test came back as 10.6 (should be less than 1.8) I have been diagnosed with Graves. Should l be concerned about my results?

Thyroid antibodies: You do not say which antibodies are positive. TPO antibodies are found in either Graves or Hashimotos. TSI is part of Graves. Either way, antibodies don't impact the treatment plan. If you are hyperthyroid (elevated FT4) then you need treatment, typically medications, radioactive iodine, or surgery. Talk to your Endocrinologist about the options. ...Read more

I have hashimoto's (hypothyroid and tested positive for thyroid antibodies ).I take eltroxin but still had two misscariages .How can I prevent it ?

Stay positive: Miscarriages are more common than many realize. It is discouraging to have had 2 but it still may simply be bad luck. Meanwhile, make sure your thyroid levels are in the normal range. Ideally your TSH should be less than 2 and it does not respond quickly to treatment. It is the thyroid level and not the antibodies that affect your fertility. Then get checked further if you continue to miscarry. ...Read more
