See Hand surgeon: Considering your age, I am surprised that a cmc joint was fused unless you have had significant trauma or have some form of severe arthropathy. For ongoing pain, though, it would be best to see a hand surgeon, repeat x-rays, diagnose the problem and if indicated get some hand therapy to improve functionality of the hand. ...Read more

Unclear: Numbness in hand from middle to pinky suggests ulnar nerve impingement. If bone spurs were related pattern would usually be different from this. However, a C8 root syndrome might produce this pattern. Try to draw a line around the area of numbness (including all parts that are numb - hand and arm). Show to doctor. Doubt spur: this is hard to diagnose without an exam. but she is too young for a spur. if it is hot/red/tender then it could be an infection but if not it may be a small ganglion cyst. If it is tender and red see your doc. if not can observe for awhile. hope this helps! ...Read more
