Carpal tunnel: Since common diagnoses are common, consider possible carpal tunnel syndrome. I have seen cramping and twitching in the hands with this diagnosis. Slightly less common is anxiety and hyperventilation, and brain disease like stroke or seizure is least common. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
I was diagnosed with tendinosis at thumb root, only symptom is thumb flexor twitching. Now twitches show up on thumb abductor too. Should I worry?help
Doctor can evaluate: If finger muscle twitching lasts only a day, there may not be a problem. If symptoms recur, or if one's hand is numb, weak, swollen, or discolored, there may be too much pressure (constriction or swelling) inside the wrist. If so, one should see a primary care doctor or a hand surgeon, in case quick treatment is needed to prevent nerve damage at the wrist. Pregnancy often causes hands to swell. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Doubt pregnancy: Could be carpel tunnel. That usually has a repitive motion history. Numbness usually. Means a nerve that has pressure on it. Different nerves got to various parts of the hand. Pressure at the elbow or wrist can caused hand numbness. I have not seen that associated. With pregnancy. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Carpal Tunnel Syndro: This is not uncommon complaint in pregnancy. It seems to occur in persons with narrow carpal tunnel when edema(swelling) can further compress median nerve and typical symptoms you described occur. It is usually relieved after delivery when edema is gone but often comes back years later as carpal tunnel further narrows and compresses median nerve. ...Read more
These count as hypnic jerks? 1 leg rapidly kicking for a sec, body twitching at the shoulder, finger tapping, & lips puckering while trying to sleep.
Difference between tics and spasms? Involuntary foot jerks, leg movements, finger jerks, & jaw jerks that stop occurring when busy. What are these?
Left hand ring finger. A lot of numbness & tension. No pain. But feeling tension @ the knuckle. Should I be worried?
Symptoms for 3 weeks, mri tomorrow. Facial twitching, head tremor, right arm numb/tingle, joint aches, vision blurry. Any ideas? ANA test was neg.
Involuntary movements an issue? Have invol. Movements only when i try sleeping. Lip puckering/ twitching. Jaw moving. Muscle twitch. Face twitching.
Could be normal.: Involuntary movements may occur during the dreaming phase of sleep. Some people may have difficulty getting to sleep because they worry a lot and when they finally fall asleep their muscles twitch which can cause them to wake up. It can also happen when you are very tired and yet you may have a hard time to relax and sleep. I wouldn't worry too much about this. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Muscle twitches in abdomen(kicking ribs and flutters),light periods for 6months, negative pregnancy tests taken from 3 months. is pregnancy possible?
Possible but not: likely. You did not miss a period and pregnancy test was negative, both of these argue against your being pregnant. There is no need to repeat the pregnancy test unless you miss your period by 4-5 days. If you are trying to get pregnant, please see your doctor to initiate care to promote your and your future baby's health. ...Read more
Right Index finger and right eye lid twitching. Leg cramps, neck pain, headache on temples. Vertigo.
Sounds systemic: There are too many problems to be isolated to 1 specific part of the body. I am not sure of what medications you are taking or what other medical conditions you have, but given your age I suspect that you have an electrolyte imbalance that is causing this cascade of problems. It could point to something serious. Get to an urgent care center or ER to get your electrolytes checked & other tests. GL! ...Read more

Twitches: Muscle twitches are often present in ALS, but there are many causes of muscle twitching that are not ALS. For many people, such a symptom is entirely benign. It appears the internet information out there generally indicates ALS for muscle twitching- that is not what most of us would say in clinic. NCV/EMG : Usually an NCV/EMG is done. It is not a structural test like an MRI, but rather checks the nerves themselves. Ulnar neuropathy: You have likely heard of carpal tunnel syndrome. This is a compression and irritation of the median nerve in the wrist.
