Pain in muscle of thumb, especially when gripping or if I press on it. No tingling or pain in other fingers. Is this tendonitis?

Possible: This sounds more like a contusion than tendonitis, but it would be possible to have a tendonitis of a flexor tendon. Wearing a glove or soft splint and avoiding the positions that previously caused irritation is important as well as knowing what may have set the problem off in the first place. Mechanics become even more important. Speak with a trainer, or PT and your doctor to clarlfy things ...Read more

I iced my hand with tendonitis in 15 minute intervals and it turned blue. What does that mean? Should I not ice it at all?

normal response: The bluish discoloration is simply the response of your skin and the blood vessels in it to cold. You should not simply pack your hand in ice but actually massage it with an ice pack as this helps the local circulation but more importantly, reduces your risk of giving yourself a tissue injury such as frostbite. As long as the blue resolves when your hand warms up, everything is normal. ...Read more

I've been suffering from mild tendonitis on my left hand the past year and a half and I've been wondering how I could treat thanks :)?

Tendonitis: First this is very nonspecific. The hand and wrist has multiple joints, ligaments and tendons. All of which can be the source of your tendinitis. Not the mention that you can acquire masses such as ganglion cysts. Tendinitis rarely last greater than 6 weeks with rest and nsaids. If lasting longer you have to wonder if treatment adequate, or if diagnosis is correct. Recommend you have reevaluated. ...Read more
