Thumb pain caused by hard impact about three weeks ago but hasn't decreased I have a little swelling and get pain and numbness/tingling in thumb&wrist?

Depends: This really should be examined in person, and is not suited to a internet diagnosis. Depends on injury, was thumb jammed? If so, possibly compressed structures in bones of hand/wrist and sometimes wrist inflammation turns inward not outward and that is something to seek care for, as entrapment of neurovascular elements within the wrist can be a real problem. Suggest see md/orthopedist. Good luck. ...Read more

Dropped a can on upper knuckle of left thumb. Pain & numbness on side of knuckle, limited mobility& swelling between index & thumb. Is it fractured?

Only x-ray can tell: If this just occurred, then it's reasonable to give this a couple of days of observation, rest, icing and possibly anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen. Only an x-ray can answer the question of whether a fracture is present or not. A contusion/bruise can certainly look like this. ...Read more
