Numbness: Your symptoms could be due to carpal tunnel syndrome. If you have an occupation with repetitive hand movements or where you sit at a computer and do a lot of typing, it can be associated with this. Generally, people wake up with symptoms worse when they wake up and have to shake their hands to "wake them". Most providers will initially recommend wrist splints. Not good! : The object is 2 awaken with the symptoms gone. Could B due 2 a metabolic disorder, pregnancy, decreased vascular supply, diabetes & others. U need 2 get in 2 C Ur hand surgeon now. Maybe carpal tunnel: Carpal tunnel syndrome is a result of the nerve being compressed as it travels through the wrist area--see pic. The symptoms often involves the thmb and index+middle finger and usually worse at night/am. Being a diabetic does increase risk of getting carpal tunnel syndrome, but i would not say that your symptom/trouble is from diabetes. I suggest consulting doc for accurate diagnosis. Nerve encrouchment: Sounds like you slept in a position in which pressure was being placed on nerves which then produced the symptoms you are referring to.
