Thryoid Issues And Very Red Blood Shot Eyes
What damage can high blood pressure have on eyes? Whites of my eyes get blurry & blood red. I think it is my blood pressure but others say allergies.
Significant damage: Hypertension may cause damage to the retina by damaging the blood supply to the retina. This can cause retinal hemorrhage, blurring of vision and even complete loss of vision. Also, can cause optic neuropathy. It can also lead to fluid build up in the choroid, needing surgery. Allergy presents with runny nose, reddening of conjunctiva and sclera, itching and watering of eyes, sneezing etc. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Eyes were white before June. sinus. Eyes still red.Dialited blood vessels side of eyes and some at bottom.Could this be a blood clot?eye exam normal
Chances high not: blood clot, but perhaps irritated eyes! If you still have your sinusitis brewing that's not helping matters. So if your eye exam is normal, and they did a dilated exam too, you are in the clear. Your dilated blood vessels needs to be investigated if it's from contact lens overuse, dry eyes, or other causes. ...Read more

My eyes turned red and got headache too. Dr suggested systane balance but i'm still feeling the pain and eyes are red. Could you suggest an eye drops?
Eye irritation: You can try switching to systane ultra or refresh optive non-preservative artificial tears every 30-60 minutes, warm compresses, and ointment as needed. You should also consider over-the-counter headache therapies and seeing your doctor to have your intraocular pressure and complete eye exam checked (since other issues can cause these symptoms and can be vision threatening). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Not necessarily: Depending on the nature of the spots (are they blood spots or inflammation causing the blood vessels to be more apparent) it is less likely related to blood pressure. If the blood spots are in the retina in the back of the eye, however, there is a higher risk. See an eye doctor for a dilated examination, and have your blood pressure checked as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

First, try to increase your fluid volume by drinking liquids, especially those with electrolytes including Gatorade. If you don't feel better and BP comes up, contact your Doc or go to ER/Urgent Care. Blood loss ? ...Read more
