Why do I have a lot of mucus or phlegm after eating cereal and cookies? Should I cut down the consumption of gluten?
Elimination diet: "Gluten enteropathy" or "celiac sprue" is an autoimmune response to gluten which causes delayed intestinal problems. Wheat ALLERGY, on the other hand, can cause immediate symptoms like mucus and phlegm. Eliminate wheat, barley, oats and rye from your diet for a while. Then reintroduce them one at a time to see what products provoke your symptoms. More info @ MayoClinic. Org/disease-conditions. ...Read more

After eating cereal, I had a lot of mucus or phlegm, and it makes me feel tired. What food can I substitute for cereal and milk for my breakfast?
Lots of options!: There are countless healthier options then cereal in the morning. First, any food can be eaten at any time of the day BUT if you are looking for something more "traditionally" breakfast food consider - fruit, toast, eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, cottage cheese, whole grain waffle with fruit spread, etc. You may also want to try almond milk instead of cow's milk. What causes a productive cough after eating? For the past few days, about 10 minutes after every meal, I cough up a large amount of phlegm from lungs
Acid reflux: Acid reflux, also known as gerd, which is very prevalent in overweight people especially (with 60% of americans being overweight, of course). Constant acid coming up from the stomach causes irritation that induces the formation of mucous, constantly trying to clear by coughing. Reflux is increased with smoking. Lately after eating I get phlegm-like fluid in throat, cough a bit and get palpitations sometimes, not sure if related. Any causes of these symptoms?
23\f what causes dry throat, phlegm feeling in throat after eating greasy food, and burping excessively? Very worried thank you.
My TSH is 0.25 what I've to eat. I can't sleeping I've transparent phlegm in throat after eating meal. My throat is irritating.
My TSH 0.25 after eating transparent phlegm created in my throat it is worse to take breath normally, what I have to eat to get normal TSH.
TSH & levothyroxine: 1st, phlegm (regardless of color) has nothing to do w/your tsh. 2nd, what you eat (short of seaweed w/lots of iodine) won't really affect your tsh. So TSH was initially 27.95, then you were given levothyroxine (t4) 100mcg. You must've had another TSH which is why T4 was decreased to 7mcg after which point TSH is now 0.25 (3rd value), presumably higher than 2nd value. Your doc will decrease T4 more. ...Read more
My TSH is 0.25 (l)after eating my throat get irritating &phlegm stuck in my throat. Wat I have to eat to get normal. I could'nt sleep feel heavy breath?
Not related: I'm not sure if your throat issue has anything to do with your thyroid. Your TSH is low, but looks as if you just changed dose from 100-->75mcg. I bet your throat issue has more to do with allergies or asthma or some other condition. I see you are on prednisone, maybe related to that condition? See a doctor for throat and neck exam and evaluation. ...Read more
17 yr old male, minor throat tightness, with some phlegm. Occasional coughing better after eating. Caused by pollen or what else? Is it a concern?
Reflux: The only thought I have is that you have a reflux problem causing irritation at your throat and coughing. The improvement immediately after eating is due to the acid being diluted or neutralized by the food you have consumed. Does improvement occur also when drinking coffee, tea, or cola? ...Read more
Persistent dull pain in frontneck area since start of feb. Also productive cough after eating (but not due to acid reflux or postnasal drip). Ideas?
Depends how long you: Have been coughing, and 6 weeks is a long time to be coughing. You may be experiencing food allergies, if it's always after eating, and not due to gerd, or pnd. You could have a sinusitis that needs to be treated before it gets worse, or you may be reacting to environmental allergens inhaled. So, go to your doctor, and have her/him check you out, and get your diagnosis soon. ...Read more
Lately I have been getting phlem in my lungs and throat after eating and it becomes hard to breathe. I don't smoke so im not sure why this is happening?
There maybe food going into your lungs. This can be life threatening if a piece of meat or steak closes down your airway. Some people have died in restaurants while eating and swallowing large pieces of meat.
I do believe that you are not at risk and I do not want you to worry but you want to check with your doc and discuss nasolaryngoscopy or "fees" study. It may or may not be useful for you. ...Read more

My 11 years old sister keeps throwing up white phlegm. What is the reason and how can I stop her from vomiting?
Nausea and vomiting: You have to make sure she is hydrated. Is she able to drink water? You can try Gatorade if she can tolerate water. A good rule of thumb about hydration is if the urine is clear. If the urine is clear she is hydrated, if dark yellow, she is dehydrated. She probably has the flu. If she gets too dehydrated, she will need an IV. And a few liters of fluid. If she is still vomiting tomor: see md ...Read more

What causes severe chest pain, shoulder pain, neck pain after eating followed by throwing up. Also dizziness, and sweating. Have had this 3 times?
YouGotYourHeartInIt: Glad I saw this. It worries me a little. Of course, any doctor would need to know more but, a lot of other possibilities aside for now, at your age it could be related to your heart.
