There: There is such a thing as a "coital headache", that occurs during orgasm. That said, the most reasonable thing, with any new headache or change in headache patterns, is to see your physician to rule out any serious cause of headaches. Coital headache can be treated safely with medications.

Possible neuralgia: This could be an irritable nerve (neuralgia) which is more of a nuisance than anything serious. It's also possibly a pinched occipital nerve. However I recommend that you have an examination by physician for this recurrent symptom as it could be a form of migraine.

Is permanent sharp throbbing pain in one side of the head, neck and back pain and scalp sensitive to touch and painful symptoms of occipital neuralgia?

Yes and No: It could be occipital neuralgia, however neck and back pain are not typical symptoms. I would suggest having your neck evaluated as well since many of those nerves can travel to both the neck, back and head to cause the symptoms you describe.

Sharp throbbing twanging pain on the right side, back of my head. Five days now.?

Headaches can be: Difficult to diagnose. Do you have pain, upper back or history of headaches or is this new. Are you sleeping at night, ? One possible reason is teeth clinching or grinding at night called bruxism, while flexing back the head. This can increase with stress and become a cycle. Clonazepam at time of sleep can help. It may be in the muscles of the upper neck, if otc med not help, see doc gdluc.

Radiculopathy: When a stable back pain started to change its nature, it is necessary to see your pcp as soon as possible since it is an indicative of nerve compression or irritation. The exact nature your condition should be evaluated by thorough history, physical examination and possibly mri. Good luck.

Pulled muscle: The first thing to consider is a pulled muscle. You put some ice on the area that hurts when you have an acute injury and do repeated ice for the next couple of days but after 36 hours and you can use heat. If your symptoms don't improve you need to discuss this with your physician

2 separate problems: 1. Possible migraine. Any migraine must be viewed as a valid medical disorder and the headache assessment must be comprehensive. Once a diagnosis of migraine has been made, effective management of migraine should be initiated. 2. Scalp pimples could be hormone or stress related. If concerned see your PCP for evaluation. Good luck.

Occipital neuralgia.: Irritation of the main nerve that runs from the back of the skull can cause occipital neuralgia.. It is suspected that tense muscles or ligaments may press against the nerve, causing irritation, inflammation and subsequent pain. Other causes may include viral infection, trauma to the neck or bad posture.
