The spike in estrogen creates a brief episode of spotting which admixed with the remaining clear mucus creates the above type of discharge and the popping of the follicle gives a transient pain sensation. ...Read more

Abdominal pain and v:
Your symptoms most probably are related from a ruptured cyst, which has been described.
Pain or aching in your lower belly, usually when you are in the middle of your menstrual cycle.
A delay in the start of your menstrual period.
Vaginal bleeding when you are not having your period.
Is this the first time?, if recurs you will need to have an ultrasound. And will need a gynecologist. ...Read more

Time to see OBGYN: I saw three related questions. It is possible that women who are ovulating to have a cyst on the ovary ovulating at that time. It is also possible for other types of masses to form on one or both ovaries. Other things in nearby structures can cause pain also. If there is intense or recurring pain, a gyn can evaluate with exam and ultrasound. Best to avoid sex till after talking with doctor. ...Read more
Not cancer!: Hi Georgia. Ovarian cancer typically does not cause pain and is certainly very rare in someone your age. It should go away shortly, if not I would seek medical attention. Good luck! ...Read more

If irritated enough it can, rarely irritate the nerves down there and maybe cause the pain you describe but it should go away in a short time, like say a week. If not, then it's something else and you should see a doc ...Read more
