Hi I have Si joint pain or piriformis, sharp pain in back, stabbing pain in thigh and calf it doesn't travel. now stabbing pain in front ankle, related?

Sciatica?: In my experience, "SI joint" and "Piriformis" syndromes are commonly over-diagnosed by mistake. Instead, I do see a lot of cases of sciatica from degenerate discs and pinched nerves in the lumbar spine. From your description, I wonder if you might have a pinched L5 nerve in your lumbar spine. http://www.spine-health.com/conditions/spine-anatomy/all-about-l5-s1-lumbosacral-joint ...Read more

L5-S1 microdiscectomy Fri for left leg sciatic pain. Calf/foot pain relief w/some thigh/behind knee pain. Pain less AM but sharp pain down left leg into foot w/pain level of 9.5 & hurts sitting/lying.

Microdiskectomy: Give it some time; sometimes simply moving the roots around can upset the lumbar plexus and give you intermittent (even quite severe) pain, although it resolves within a week or two. Getting to the disk requires mobilization of the roots and inflammatory changes from that- or the disk herniation- itself can give this pain. As long as bowel and bladder OK, hopefully this will resolve also. Best! ...Read more

I am experiencing hip pain, low back pain, knee pain and pain shooting down the leg. The following also describe me: Back pain, Leg numbness, Leg ...

Multifactorial pain: Without exam/MRI difficult to label your pains. Low back, hip, leg pain and numbness clearly CAN be related to indicate disc problems in the low back with resultant discogenic and radicular pain. Ibuprofen/naproxen/acetaminophen can help some pain. For diagnosis/treatment, you need a lumbar spine MRI and formal evaluation to see if all problems tie together. Treatment possible. Good luck! ...Read more

Burning sensation and pain in lower right leg, numbing sensation in foot, pinching sensation in hip ? No back pain.

Burning sensation and pain in lower right leg, numbing sensation in foot, pinching sensation in hip ? No back pain.

Depends: I would like to know where the pain starts. If it originates at the buttock it is possible that the problem could be coming from the back despite not having back pain. My advice would be to get an EMG to rule out a radiculopathy, consider imaging of L-spine and Right Hip, and based on these results decide further tx. Buttock pain could be coming from back, hip or SI joint. Further w/u needed. ...Read more
