Muscle spasm?: I have seen several people over the years also describing this associated with a "lump" that goes down with self massage. Sounds like a hernia, but proven many times not to be. Not the right location for a hernia either. The most likley cuse is intermittent muse (alprostadil) spasm, which can be treated with over the counter meds, massage, and maybe muscle relaxing meds. Possibly: It is possible for this to be pancreatitis, but there are many other possible diagnoses also. Regardless, you need an urgent evaluation to evaluate the symptoms. RUQ pain: There are many potential causes of right upper quadrant pain after gallbladder removal. It is possible that it could be related to a retained stone in the bile duct, but also the pancreas, small intestine, stomach, and kidneys can all cause pain in that area, in addition to other organs more rarely.
