Watch hydration: A mouth ulcer in a baby can be a serious illness. The initial exposure to herpes virus, for example, can produce significant symptoms including dehydration because swallowing can be quite painful. If you sense any of these issues, be sure to get to a pediatrician ASAP.

Throat pain: There are several ways to treat a sore throat- salt water gargles, listerine zero rinses, cepacol rinses- all over the counter oral rinses that will assist with keeping the area clean and assist in promoting healing. Motrin can assist, to coat the ulcer, a cocktail of maalox and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) with or without some lido swish and spit can cover the sore so you can eat and swallow. Dds/md rx needed.

ENT Eval: Must be seen to determine if ulceration is due to trauma, infection, or malignancy like cancer with can be ruled out by simple biopsy (if needed). Better to be safe than sorry. Hope this helps!

Throat ulcers: Gargle with salt water, reduce stress and with adequate sleep of 8 hours per night, ibuprofen for pain. See your primary care doctor for examination.

Mouth uclers: I agree with salt water gargle therapy entirely. Another thing that has served me well is magic mouth wash - 5 cc of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (liquid) + 5 cc of maalox + 5 of viscous Lidocaine + 1 table spoon of water. Mix it, swish and spit. Do it as needed.

Throat Ulcers: A persistent ulcer anywhere (more than 5 days) needs professional consultation. It could be anything. The md, oral surgeon/dds will rx something appropriate or start appropriate treatment.

Speech disability: An oral surgeon ENT needs to evaluate your ulcers. They can rx a mouth rinse that is a temporary fix. Dental elixir 123/ miracle mouth rinse, is a formulation of benadry/ vicous lidocaine/ and malox. It only numbs the throat. Nothing else. Good luck with the speech.
