Hello doctor, i have a sharp feeling in my throat, it hurts alot to swallow, I have a sore throat also. Do i need an xray?
No X-Ray: For a chronic sore throat, the most important thing is to have a detailed history and physical exam with an otolaryngologist. This also will include a fiber-optic laryngoscopy to look down your throat and help determine the source of your problem. Imaging like x-rays are of little use. Sometimes a barium swallow or modified swallow study is helpful to further evaluate things. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Chest pain 2 weeks..Post-xray/ekg/blood/echo sent home as "anxious." since—3 day fever, sore throat/lymph, chest pain swallowing. Relax or more blood?
Sore throat, lethargy, x3 days. ok to breathe/swallow,neg strep & xray, fast pulse. ER gave steroids & motrin for visible epiglottis. Should i worry?
Sore throat: I'm not sure how they saw your epiglottis in the ER, but if they think you have epiglottitis, you should have been hospitalized. Do you have fever? you are likely dehydrating which may cause the fast pulse. Strep is only one test. Were you tested for infectious mono? if there is suspicion of epiglottitis (low prob given no dyspnea or dysphagia) I would suggest coverage for HIB. See your PCP. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Small amount of Blood in sputum (no cough)in MORNING for 5 days!?? Throat is DRY. Ongoing Chest issues 1 month prior-Chest X-ray & Blood test normal.
I had 2 chest x-ray days apart and blood test x-rays are clear they listen sound clear they found nothing I have tickle in throat with little cough?
Question?: I presume you are asking for a diagnosis of the cause of tickle and cough. The chest X-rays & exam of the lungs are normal, as expected, since the problem is likely in your throat. Did anyone check a throat swab? Have you tried warm salt/sugar water gargles? If symptoms persist, see an ENT, but most of the time, it's viral or allergic causes that lead to these symptoms & it goes away on its own. ...Read more
