I have a cold. My right lymph node is swollen. It's gone down, but now both sides of my neck hurt. Feels like a sore muscle. Is it related?

Lymph nodes: Do you have any other lymph nodes? If so it could be the cold. Check for other lymph nodes. If the cold is getting better try Motrin or tylenol (acetaminophen) and warm compresses for the sore muscles and this problem should resolve itself. If you have persistent fevers or chills you may need an antibiotic. See your doctor in that case. You should have a family doctor to do your check ups anyway at 30 yrs old. ...Read more

I was rubbing neck because of a sore muscle and found a ball..little smaller then a pea one inch above collar bone toward jugular. movable n smooth.

Lymph node: What you felt is quite likely a lymph node. From the sound of it, it does not appear to be of concern. Many people have lymph nodes that they feel, and it does not mean anything cancerous. The fact that it can be moved around, and is smooth are all good signs. If you still are concerned, have your doctor do an exam. Best wishes. ...Read more

TMD dx. Ear pain, sore muscle down front of neck, popping jaw. Can this cause lower jaw pain next to molars under tongue? Cold fluid causes ear pain?

Pain and dysfunction: If the tmj/tmd issues last for awhile, some symptoms can affect the ear (s) in many ways. You may develop ringing in the ears; earaches, popping-grating-clicking that is heard constantly in the ears; roaring muffled sounds; hearing loss; on and on. It is better to see an ENT first if you have ear symptoms to rule out it being the ears as the source of the problem. ...Read more

I have food anxieties. When eating i tense my throat muscles tightly when swallowing. My throat feels sore after. Can this be the cause?

Sounds possible: Try to find a psychotherapist experienced with anxieties - perhaps eating disorders. This may, indeed be the cause of your throat pain, but it is always possible to also have a sore throat for other reasons. See your doctor and if it looks infected they'll prescribe antibiotics or the appropriate treatment. I think you'll feel better after doing these things. ...Read more

Returned home from a relaxing week vacation & immediately developed sxs of sore throat, muscle aches, headache, malaise. Any connection to air travel?
