Suit yourself: If you're actively building muscle, one gram of good protein per pound that you weigh now is good as a goal for your total protein intake. More won't help. If you're not trying to build mass, one gram of good protein per kg that you weigh is a good goal. ...Read more
Threptin biscuits: Are high calorie protein supplements made especially for those with special dietary needs, largely purchased by those in India. I don't think there would be any harm in eating them when you have diarrhea, but the usual food recommended is more bland: bananas, rice, oatmeal, applesauce. There is really no specific food that will, in and of itself, help diarrhea. If persists, see your Doctor. ...Read more
I am 29, 5feet 6inches, 76Kgs. Apart from starting exercise schedule what should be my diet to reduce weight? Should I start with Threptin biscuits?
Biscuits +/-: It sounds like you might want to lose about 20 pounds. Especially at your age, your decision to start exercising/become more active is MOST important. Then, eat a calorie restricted diet, 1600-1800 cal/day, focusing on vegetables, healthy protein, limited complex carbohydrates, & a lot of water. Lose slowly: 1-1.5 lb/week. Threptin biscuits are ok; they are higher protein & may help you curb carbs ...Read more

Obesity & diabetes: Too much carbs not healthy.Get a more detailed answer ›
It depends: This is impossible to answer because there are many types of dog biscuits & hot dogs. Most hot dogs are unhealthy as they are from beef and/or pork fed gmo's & given hormones & antibiotics and have cancer-causing nitrates, but you can get hot dogs without nitrates made with organic grass-fed meat. Most dog biscuits contain unhealthy animal products too but there are healthy organic dog biscuits. ...Read more
Weight gain: Eating too much of any food can cause weight gain. If a child eats only one type of food (kids go through food jags), they may miss out on other important nutrients. Try small portions of other foods at meals, offer healthy snacks, and give a multi-vitamin if your child is resistant to fruits and vegetables. Don't make meal times a battleground, but offer healthy choices. ...Read more

Baby food texture: Products that are firm enough for the child to pick up as a "finger-food" but which quickly soften upon contact with saliva are the best bet. Arrowroot cookies and the newer "puff" products seem like good choices for this age group. One must be with baby at all times and monitor each individual baby's tolerance of increasing texture. ...Read more

Eating only 2 wholemeal bread, 1 small pack of jacob's, 3 ordinary biscuit & 4 digestive biscuit for whole day. Is it healthy? My friend is on diet.
NOT healthy at all!: I have no idea what jacob's is but everything else your eating is bread/ starches. The healthiest diet (for both weight loss and good health) is to eat mostly vegetables & fruits with healthy protein and to minimize starch. You don't seem to be eating any veggies/fruit & eating mostly starch, the opposite of a healthy diet! My favorite diet is Dr. Fuhrman's Nutritarian- see http://bit. Ly/1dHW9hT ...Read more
I have baby girl 16months old. She is not taking food well since 15 to 20days. Only taking milk and some time biscuits. So please give me some advice?
Limit milk intake: After a baby reaches a year of age their appetite usually decreases because they are not growing as much as an infant. Consequently they need less calories. However, do not fill you child up with milk because milk bloats their belly and they have no room for solid foot. You are better off if you let you daughter graze rather than trying to coax her to eat. ...Read more

One of the criteria for diagnosis of diabetes is random blood sugar higher than 200. You ought to see your doctor for a proper fasting plasma glucose examination. Measuring with a glucometer is not reliable for diagnosis.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats.
