Thread The Needle Yoga Pose
Poked with needle on train. Found needle. Looks like hollow needle but could not find any barrel n chamber. Do this pose HIV risk?
I received a needle stick from a suture needle while performing external sutures. There was visible blood on the suture needle. The patient had interna?
Pretty simple: I just use a 2-0 or 3-0 stitch, which i tie down to the patient , then i wrap the suture around the catheter and tie it down . I just want a little crimp in the drain catheter, so it won't slip out but will allow drainage. I prefer braided (silk) suture for this, though some prefer nylon. I hope this answers your question. Interesting. Good luck. ...Read more
Small cut @ salon from nail file. Cleaned it w/ soap and water. Nail tech put some sort of glue on it. Not sure about sanitation conditions. Hep risk?
Unlikely: It is possible to transmit infections through a cut but unlikely to come from a nail file unless it had another persons blood on it. You did the best thing which was to wash with soap and water. Anything is possible but it would be highly unlikely for you to have contracted an infection from this event. ...Read more

No shot needed.: If it's a non-rusty sewing needle, it's unlikely you will need tetanus shot. This shot lasts 5-10 years. If you haven't had the shot over 6 years. It;s best to get another one. This will protect you for future deep wound or cut injuries that may put you at risk for tetanus. ...Read more
Are vacuum assisted breast core biopsy guns always attached to a machine? the one I had was just a gun, not cord attached. Not vacuum assisted then?
Yes: Yes, typically the vacuum assisted biopsy guns are attached to the computer/machine because a program runs it and the vacuum runs through it.Sometimes a handheld stereotactic gun is used instead due to the nature of the lesion being biopsied-much better for dense tissue or firm lesions. The clumsiness of all the tubing with the vacuum ones can be a problem too although better for calcifications. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Is there any other instrument a periodontist can use to probe the depth of the sulcus without using the usual very sharp needle pointed depth probe?
Probing: There are different styles of probes and some dentists are more gentle than others, but the main factor is the individual sensitivity of the patient. Safe way to get a used needle out of biohazard container? Need the one they used for my injection to analyze needle contamination (microbes, viruses)
Contamination: Don't do this. Once in that container it may well have been contaminated by other materials within the container, and the very reason these containers are used is to prevent you from being inadvertently exposed to the pathogens that may be within them. Analyzing the flora on the needle will be grossly misleading and an inappropriate means of data collection. ...Read more
