My Grandma had a perforation in her duodenum last year Would being on a low dose of prednisone cause that area to become weak/thin her stomach lining?
No, but…: Steroids, even low dose, can increase the risk of peptic ulcer disease, If given on a chronic basis. If she has had a perforation in the past, she should probably be on stomach medicine along with the steroid, to help reduce that risk. Best would be for her not to be on steroids at all, if possible. Had a ugd and have stomach lining problems. Getting treated. What are the chances of me getting another ugd to find out if the meds have worked?
Stomach: Great question! By ugd, I'm wondering if you had an upper GI barium swallow or upper GI endoscopy? If your symptoms are not resolving, further testing may be needed in the near future. If your symptoms have resolved, your doctor may periodically want to monitor you depending on the outcome of your initial test. When all else fails, make an appointment and ask your doc. They will know. ...Read more

My daughter is 15 she is getting a biopsy done on her stomach lining will she be in any pain and how with the procedure go and will be able to go home?
No pain, can go home: It would be important to know why she is getting the biopsy. The procedure sounds like upper endoscopy with biopsy. This is done under complete sedation, unless the patient chose not to. It is painless, and the patient can go home after probably 1 hour or so when patient wakes up completely, and if there is no complication. There may be a minor bleeding at the biopsy, but it is usually negligible. ...Read more
I have bulimia and have just thrown up something that looked like stomach lining. It was mucusy and fleshy. Is this dangerous?
Hello. I just had what looked like stomach lining or something from my insides in my stool. I'm just wondering what this could mean. Thank you.
Hard to tell. ..: I feel we can be pretty sure that what you saw in your stool is not the lining of your stomach. That leaves us with the question of " what was it? " As long as you are not having any other symptoms of any problem, you are most likely fine. I'd recommend seeing your doctor to discuss this. You could describe what you saw and maybe get a better answer. A photo, though "gross", would be helpful ...Read more
