HPV test vs PAP test: There are 2 tests that are done now: hpv test and pap test. If your hpv test is positive and pap smear normal - it will most likely stay that way for 1 yr. Pap Smears: This question no longer needs us to speculate. Any good physician doing a pap in america today would be including the dna hybrid test to see if you have a strain of the cancer causing hpv viruses. The skin changes classified by cin 1, 2 or above are one part of the test. The dna hpv hybrid results are the other. I would ask your gynecologist what the hybrid test showed. ...Read more

Unrelated: She sounds like she has a bladder infection. Hoc will not cause her menses to stop. If she had a surgery( not just office biopsies), that could be related to stenosis of the cervix not allowing blood out. Probably needs a pregnancy test and a treatment for a uti. ...Read more

Possible, not likely: What you describe would no likely be cancer, but would more likely be an infection. The groin lumps would probably be enlarged lymph nodes. However, some pelvic cancers do spread to the groin lymph nodes - so it is possible. See your doctor to find out what is going on. ...Read more
