Thickened Uterine Lining And Ovarian Cysts While On Tamoxifen
Hi, I'm 48 yo, have endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, pre-menopausal. CA 125 was around 200's then 159 the last one was 210 any concerns?
Likely, no: CA 125 is not recommended as a screening tool for ovarian cancer when used in risk-based stratification. Meaning, assuming that your mom or sister didn't get diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Normal for women with endometriosis to have elevated CA-125. It sounds like your doctor has done Ultrasound to evaluate ovaries as well. Your MD knows your history and risk, likely this CA-125 level is normal ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What could replace tamoxiphen in second 5 years after breast cancer? Tamoxiphen caused me ovarian cyst and uterus thickening . Thanks
Letrozole: Tamoxifen for 5 years followed by Letrozole would be an option. However, technically you are still premenopausal so not an option. Another treatment which is controversial is to have your ovaries removes. There is data on 10 years of tamoxifen now but you may not want to do this. The other option would be observation. Hope this helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Recently had a CT scan is it possible for a remarkably thickened sigmoid colon, bulky uterus, and ovarian cyst over 5cm to be related? Concerned
Guessing: This is hard to call form just a description of CT, not knowing any other clinical facts. Can say: 1) the bulky uterus is 100% unrelated to the other findings, the thickened sigmoid "may" be related to the ovarian cyst or vice-versa. A doctor who knows your whole history and exam could answer these for you, can't say more online. Good wishes ...Read more
