Early for menopause?: I'm not sure I'd jump to that conclusion based on what you've said. No, let me rephrase- I'm SURE I wouldn't jump to that conclusion based on what you've said. Is this the 1st time you've ever had such a discharge? I suggest a visit to your primary doctor. They may wish to order a urine test and if necessary a visit to the OB/GYN. Good estimate for menopause when mother or sister began. ...Read more

Could be Pregnant: It's a little too early to take a home pregnancy test but if you have been sexually active w/o birth control you could be pregnant. Your doctor can do a more sensitive test by drawing your blood to see if you are pregnant. UTI, now my period is late with 7 days. I have nausea, a lot white discharge, low back pain and I feel tired. I have 2 negative test. Can I be pregnant?

Hard to say: When did you perform the 2 tests? If BEFORE you missed your period then, they're not valid. Also, if you're on medications for a UTI I don't know if that can affect these tests. We'd have to defer to an OB/GYN on that question. I'd repeat the HPT in 7 days. For now, behave as if you were pregnant. If still negative you may have just had a month without ovulation. ...Read more

I haven't had a period in 4 years since Mirena (levonorgestrel). The past 3 days I've had pink slimy discharged with weird smell, low back pain 2 days. Pregnant mayb?

I guess possible BUT: When women talk about WEIRD SMELLS with back pain...I interpret what they're telling me as "pretty bad" smells and back pain.....with a SLIMY discharge? That's got UTI written all over it for me until proven otherwise before pregnancy. Nevertheless, it never hurts to check with a pregnancy test if there's any possibility that's right. Sex a week before period which is 4 days late, cramping, lower back pain, thin milky white discharge (moderate amount) took test, it was negative? Why?

Trust the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. The discharge requires separate evaluation. ...Read more

Lower back pain 5 days before period. Is this a normal symptom?

Lower back pain 5 days before period. Is this a normal symptom?

Dysmenorrhea: Dysmenorrhea, or pain associated with menstrual cycles, tends to be multifactorial (i.e., many causes). Gynecological sources of pain may include endometriosis, fibroids, and premenstrual syndrome (pms). However, low back pain can arise from hormonal changes which, in turn, can affect the elastin in connective tissues of the spine itself. Consult with your gynecologist for a formal evaluation. ...Read more

I've been tested for all infections and STDs and I'm fine. This last 4 days I've had period like cramps, lower back pain and thick clear discharge?

Cervical mucous?: Thick clear discharge is usually from the cervical glands. This can be from an ovulation or from a blocked gland on the cervix that released it's contents. It would be fine to keep an eye on it for a few more days but if symptoms increase or persist, an exam by a gynecologist would be most helpful. ...Read more
