Stroke: While I suppose your symptoms could be due to anxiety, I always worry about stroke so think FAST eg Face, Arm, Speech & Time (http://goo.gl/pvni0c). You only have 3hrs to reverse stroke (which while less likely in 28yo F, but is not impossible if taking hormonal birth control pill or has patent foramen ovale or atrial fibrillation etc) if face asymmetric, arms/legs weak and/or speech is abnormal. ...Read more

Probably not: It's difficult to connect mouth numbness and loss of sensation in fingers to an anatomic problem at the level of the brain--especially if these symptoms were not associated with loss of strength. Has this problem recurred? Do you have any weakness? Are there any other areas of facial numbness, difficulty with speech or swollowing?
