Please clarify : I'm not sure what you are asking. Are you asking about a weight loss diet? There are many types of diets, including many weight loss diets. I recommend dr. Fuhrman's nutritarian diet for both overall health and weight loss, but there other good diets too. See http://bit.Ly/1dhw9ht. ...Read more
Not by itself : It is worth remembering that white rice as a staple in eastern countries caused the ancient nutrient deficient disease called beriberi. Rice without the cusp that surrounds the grain is just starch and is metabolized as glucose. Glucose requires vitamin b to feed the energy mechanisms of cells. Taking starch without the necessary vitamins is like gas in a car cylinder with inadequate spark plug. ...Read more
I add a chopped banana to oatmeal & cook. Cooking dissolves it in oatmeal. Will nutrition of the dissolved banana be the same as in raw banana or less?
Is steamed white rice fattening? Can it replace wheat bread in a meal? What are good edible sources of calcium besides milk and suppliments?
Yes: White rice has a high glycemic index, which means it causes a rapid rise in your blood sugar. Part of the Insulin response to that rapid increase in blood sugar makes you fat. A tiny amount won't hurt, but it makes it difficult to lose weight. Replace the bread with vegetables. Not rice. Starch is not a required part of a meal. You can get calcium from yogurt, cheese, sardines, greens. ...Read more

Healthiness of a sandwich can also depend on how big a sandwich it is, and on how safe the ingredients are (cooked foods are safer because cooking decreases food bacteria). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Is oatmeal/fruit-breakfast, chickenbreast sandwich/veggies on whole wheat-lunch, and salmon/chicken and veggies sweet potatoe-dinner a good plan?
Reasonable but...: Sounds good overall but advise more protein at breakfast- add walnuts/pecans to oatmeal or have organic eggs sometimes. Advise organic chicken- if not, it's fed gmo feed which may prove hazardous-see http://www.Psrast.Org/ advise wild salmon as farmed has more toxins. Have veggies of all colors & include salads. See http://www.Drfuhrman.Com/library/foodpyramid.Aspx#.Uoobbrymbr2 and see comment:. ...Read more

My daily breakfast is two slices of whole wheat bread with crunchy peanut butter and fresh blueberries. Is it a good breakfast to eat daily?
Don't have the rest: of your history to know for sure if it's good. As long as you're not allergic to blueberries, wheat, or peanuts (common allergies that can manifest subclinically). Also as long as it's not GMO wheat, peanuts. Usually the first meal of the day should be the largest (since you can burn it off during the day) and hold you well past lunch.I would increase the protein component.Sounds more like lunch. ...Read more
