Other shampoos can theoretically be used daily but patients generally do not like the look of the hair after daily use of anti dandruff shampoos. Control only: Is a type of eczema, and must be controlled until outgrown (hopefully). Make sure leave shampoos on for 10-15 mins before going in shower, and would rotate between nizeral/headnshoulders/and tar shampoos. To stop dandruff: Dandruff will keep coming back. To clear it up, use a shampoo containing selenium sulfide at least twice weekly until it clears; then once weekly to prevent dancruff from recurring. If this otc solution doen't work, there are shampoos containing anti-fungal agents available by prescription, that are used the same way. If your run-of the mill anti dandruff shampoo is not working you may need something stronger. Your "dandruff" may be eczema so see a dermatologist to make sure.
