I suffer from anxiety and when i try to fall asleep my left side of my body goes numb and my heart stops. Then my body jolts me awake.

You're OK.: Anxiety can make you imagine that the worst of the worst can, happen. Not true in reality. Your heart doesn't stop-- you would be dead. Your extreme anxiety is your real enemy. It is not uncommon to experience one's body jolting awake when overly tired or stressed. Many people do including me. Relax, you are ok. But seek help from psychologist/psychiatrist to alleviate anxiety. Good luck. ...Read more

Being 24 and had work-up without cardiac involvement, panic is likely. Consult doc for treatment. Good luck. ...Read more

In the last week I have had numbness on the left side of my body going on and off. It is anywhere from my face to legs. What is happening?

See MD: It is best to see your md and perhaps a neurologist. To have one sided (from face to leg) numbness it has to be a deeper problem in the brain such as the internal capsule. You are too young to be having a stroke anyway, but it can happen depending on risks such as drug use for some. There's also the hemiplegic migraine which can also be acephalgic (no pain) but to discuss everything here too long. ...Read more

I had a brain tumor removed Dec of last year, it was the size of a fist. It has left me with some numbness on the left side of my body, and heaviness.

Recovery: You are fortunate that removing the tumor did not lead to paralysis (if the tumor was on the other side, it could have taken away your speech too). Recovery can take many months for the first noticeable improvements, but with work and ongoing physical therapy, you may see gradual improvement that can continue for years. Good luck! ...Read more
