Consider a high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet, such as the Atkins diet. What effects does this diet have on the liver?
Work.: The liver is a truly amazing organ. That we can abuse it with all the bad things we do and it keeps chugging along is remarkable.A healthy liver can handle the high fat&protein atkins diet is proof. But what happens after you quit the diet? What is your view on the fodmap diet? Why can't probiotics be used instead of this diet? Does exercise increase absorption of fodmaps?

While probiotics might help slightly by reducing unfriendly flora, even the "good" flora in probiotics can ferment these sugars. I know of no evidence that exercise increases absorption of fodmaps & doubt it would. See comment:. ...Read more
