Ulnar neuropathy?: The symptoms you describe are typical for trouble with the ulnar nerve. Pressure neuropathy: is my best guess, based on your sleep position. Make sure you are not sleeping on your hand, or propping it up or on your chest. Does it eventually go away each day? Long term alcohol: Use can lead to neuropathy. While this is a possible cause of your numbness, there can be others, including injuries or trapped nerves in neck, wrist, or elbow. Talk to your doctor to get vit b and Folic Acid levels on you to see if these could be a cause of your neuropathy. If those are normal, discuss other causes.
