What is your view on the fodmap diet? Why can't probiotics be used instead of this diet? Does exercise increase absorption of fodmaps?
Helpful for many: The fodmap diet is proven to help many with ibs & some with ibd. The idea is that certain sugars are poorly absorbed & then fermented by intestinal microbes producing gas. While probiotics might help slightly by reducing unfriendly flora, even the "good" flora in probiotics can ferment these sugars. Crackers are: carbs and its best to avoid them. Ezekiel bread is made from sprouted grains and is a good substitute for carbs. It's in the frozen food section at the market and comes in a variety of types. A bit expensive but dense so it goes a longer way than regular bread. Best fruit is what is low on the glycemic index.
