The Effect Of L Glutamine On Zoloft
I read that antidepressants cause weight gain due to insulin resistance. If I take zoloft, (sertraline) I can counter weight gain taking L-glutamine and L-leucine?
Can I take the fitness supplement L Glutamine as part of my gym diet without any contradiction to my 150mg dose of the antidepressant sertraline??
Yes: Glutamine is an amino acid, a building block of protein. Because of this, some believe it helps repair and build muscle, but there is little evidence it actually improves athletic performance. Glutamine interacts with some cancer chemotherapy and seizure medications but sertraline seems to be ok. I don't know that it would be of benefit for you to take, but I doubt it is harmful. Good wishes:) ...Read more
Yes: And get with your physician and find out whether this GFR is even reliable. Today's fad for estimating GFR based on a spot creatinine without regard to whether the individual may simply be well-muscled (and healthy) causes a great deal of unnecessary concern. Caution. : Sam-e is a naturally occuring precursor to serotonin, and taking it can lead to increased levels of serotonin. It is proving to be an effective treatment for depression, though the doses when taken alone are probably in the range of 1600 mg daily. When taken with a med like zoloft, (sertraline) one runs the risk of developing serotonin syndrome (flushing, diarrhea, palpitations, agitation). I advise caution. ...Read more

Not very: Glutamine is in everything you eat that's got protein. Your best supplement for bulk is creatine. How long do u take Zoloft (sertraline) for. I've been on it 1 month. I don't want to go all summer without a drink. Im on 0.50 mgs and feel better?
6 months or longer: I'm glad you're feeling better. Zoloft (sertraline) is used to treat depressive and anxiety disorders, so the length of time you will need on it will depend on your diagnosis. Some conditions, like a single major depressive episode, require at least six months to ensure adequate treatment. For some conditions, zoloft (sertraline) is prescribed indefinitely. Careful about alcohol. It will reduce the effectiveness of zoloft (sertraline). ...Read more
Its almost a year that i started my fitness classes 5 days a week.My coach gave me ginseng&l-glutamine for better performance. Do they really work?
Supplements: I guess, you would be the best person to answer these questions for yourself. Have you done better since you've been taking these supplements? I am not sure what your goal is, though. I would not personally take them if i were to start my fitness. I don't believe you need any supplement to get in shape. If you do bodybuilding, you will need some protein and other supplements, but not for fitness. ...Read more
Does Zoloft change what you say/remove filters? if you wouldn't make a comment before you were on zoloft, would you make it now bc of the confidence?
Adverse Effects: I have not had patients report this side effect, nor have I read of this type of adverse effect. If anything, patients have reported more clarity in their thinking, which would ideally promote more thoughtful conversation. If you are experiencing less of a verbal filter, I would highly recommend exploring this in therapy. Perhaps the underlying reason(s) will be revealed there. ...Read more

I think I accidentally took 400mg of Zoloft (sertraline) instead of the 200mg that I am prescribed. Hectic day and can't remember. concerned/embarrassed.
Probably OK: If you did take that amount and if you are not feeling badly--nausea, shaky, toxic, you will probably be OK. BUT if you begin feeling ill, sick, or toxic, you could be having a bad reaction and will need immediate medical attention for Serotonin Syndrome. Do not delay in seeking medical evaluation and treatment. ...Read more

WHAT happens if I accidently took 2 doses of my zoloft (sertraline)?? Im taking 12.5 mg. I couldn't remember if I took it in the morning, so I took it at 2:00. OK?
My pdoc said that i can up the Zoloft (sertraline) dose from 150 to 200mg if i feel 150 doesn't help enough. Would upping it be wise? (i had 0 side effects so far)
Zoloft (sertraline): Zoloft (sertraline) can be raised to 200mg safely, in general -- but i'm wondering what the diagnosis is? You list "abnormally high sex drive"? Sometimes this can indicate a mood disorder with hypomania or mania -- and taking zoloft (sertraline) without a mood stabilizer can worsen that. I suggest consulting with a psychiatrist about your diagnosis and your medication. There may be more effective options for you. ...Read more
