The Dorsal Vein On My Penis Appears Much Larger And I Am Noticing Transient Groin Discomfort I Am A 22 Year Old Male What Could This Be
The dorsal vein on my penis appears much larger and I am noticing transient groin discomfort. I am a 22 year old male. What could this be?
Dorsal penile vein: If you are sexually quite active, it is normal for your dorsal penile vein to enlarge since sex involves increasing blood flow to the penis, holding it for a while (erection), and then letting it flow out through the veins. The transient groin discomfort could well be due to venous congestion or engorgement, somewhat analogous to the "blue ball" syndrome. It is benign and will resolve. ...Read more
I have superficial veins popping up on the dorsal part of my penis and they're really dark, I'm a 1st year medical student and idontknow what that is?
Answered yet?: I remembered this was answered. Most likely, it's a branch of penile dorsal vein, which has its own normal variation in its diameter, number, and distribution. But I wondered that "popping up" meant - recently occurring. The easiest thing to do is to ask one of your clinically related attending (since you're a medical student) to take a look at and palpate it so this riddle could be solved. Best.. ...Read more
Pain in groin on right side above the penis root.Pressed slightly to check and feels like some swollen veins at the painful spot.20 yo male.Cancer?
What's the name and purpose of the large prominent vein on the top of my penis that seems to originate from the pelvis?
Here are some...: Most likely, what you see are dorsal veins. Known to us, veins of any organs tend to widely vary in number, course, and distribution as compared to the arteries to any organs. So, if asymptomatic, compressible, and variable at erection and detumescence, leave them alone because what you see is your personal unique anatomical variation. Of course, if still in doubt, have someone take a look. Best.. ...Read more
Probably not need...: The visibility and diameter of penile dorsal veins highly vary but carry no clinical significance as long as you're well and sound in erection for coitus. So, usually, no intervention is required, and not worth the trouble. Of course, overindulgence and obsession in every aspect of life will negatively impact desirable healthy living, and sex is no exception. ...Read more
May be normal: If the vein collapses when pushed on, is not tender, and there is no surrounding redness or increased warmth, then it can indicate overall hydration status, but is not likely a problem. If any of the above are present, then you should see your Dr or Urologist for evaluation. ...Read more
What causes thrombosis of the superficial dorsal vein of the penis? (The main prominent penis vein)
Blocking blood flow: Use of "cock rings" , cords, or other types of devices that block the flow of blood through the vein for a prolonged time is the most probable cause. There are also blood clotting disorders such as anti cardiolipin antibodies that iincrease the risk of clotting. Inflammation from an infection can also cause clotting/thrombosis. ...Read more

If u had veins appearing on the dorsal of your penis recently , like they weren't there , do they go?
If the penile dorsal or super fiscal vein became damaged, would penis become permanently retracted? What r other symptoms?
Usually minor issue: It sounds to me from your description that you have soreness to the dorsal vein of the penis for trauma. Usually this is a self limited issue and will resolve in time. Can try antiinflammatories like ibuprofen and heat sometimes that helps resolve the issue. This should not result in a retracted penis. Other symptoms other than soreness would be firmness felt along the vein ...Read more

Too much sex: Perhaps you need to give your body a day or two break. I am known here on health tap for telling men that masturbation is normal and common and without any health risks. Torn tissue: The mechanics of sex will stretch and twist tissue. I'm 22 year old male. Took Accutane aged 20 for period of 6 months. Did it stunt my height (closure of bone plates) and stunt my penis growth?
Hey! I'm a 22 year old white male and recently I've discovered these small white bumps on my penis shaft. They're painless and look like skin tags. They seemed to form after I had some warts removed from my elbow, which leads me to believe that it may be
Probably normal: Every male has "small white bumps" on the penile skin, normal sebaceous glands and hair follicles. If you are this is new and/or abnormal, see your doctor or a dermatologist. In the meantime, this description doesn't sound at all like genital warts. And common skin warts don't get transmitted to the genital area, so that's really not something to be concerned about. Best wishes. ...Read more
Hi I'm a 30 year old male and my penis keeps oozing a clear and sticky substance. I have no groin pain or tesicale pain. ?
Get checked: A penile discharge often indicates an infection. If you have been having unprotected sex it could be due to a sexually transmitted disease. If not, there are other infections that can do this. So get checked out. Avoid intercourse until seen, either way. Other causes are possible as well, but you need to see a doc to find out. If you have fever, vomiting, or increased pain, get seen at ER. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Hi, i'm a 22 year old male, i noticed a small lymph node on the crease in my right groin, its movable and smaller than a pea, what could it be?
Causes for prominent veins? Over the past few days I've noticed my veins are showing more and more of them are visible everywhere above my pelvis.
Veins showing: Veins are closer to your skin surface than arteries are. Maybe like like most young healthy women you are exercising and trying to keep your wt down. In doing that you may be burning some of your subcutaneous fat and so your veins become more prominent. Just a thought. See a dermatologist. ...Read more

I was told 2 have CT w/ barium due to calcified vein in pelvis .Radiology in reg. xray said unidentified ideology. Any risks if I dont do the CT ?
Vascular problems: You'll be denying your providers and yourself some possibly important information regarding how to treat your vascular problem. Blockages in veins are not good and might result in some seriously threatening events - like stroke, etc. It's also important to see why blood calcium is high. Why not find out about these things? Consider it practice for Tx decisions. I hope it goes well - be strong! ...Read more
Have calcified vein in pelvis.Radiologist report says unidentified ideology.( Also have kidney stones) Isn't that a phlebolith? Why then have a CT ?
Not sure.: Sometimes a phlebolith can't be differentiated from a distal ureter stone on xray, and a CT is done to make the distinction. Perhaps the calcified vein is a larger vein than the small veins associated with phleboliths, and further evaluation is needed. But I can't be sure based on limited info. Try discussing the need for a ct with your doc. ...Read more
My right testicle is solid, including the veins coming from it which are swollen and appear as a lump on my pelvis. Left is 4 times smaller.
Usually not.: Although a pelvic or abdominal tumor can lead to an increase in pelvic veins seen on the skin, there are more frequent causes such as malfunctioning (refluxing) valves in the saphenous system or even in the ovarian veins (pelvic congestion syndrome).A ct of the abdomen and pelvis as well as a leg venous ultrasound will help to make the diagnosis. See a vein specialist. ...Read more

Hi, I'm a 22 year old female and I've noticed recently my veins in my hands bulge out quite a bit whenever my hands are lowered. Why is this happening?
Very grave question!: When you are standing up and you lower your arms the blood in your veins will drop towards the floor (unless you are in a space capsule), due to the force of gravity. (Remember your HS Physics). You will see some small bumps too. Those are the valves in your veins which prevent backflow. If you lift your hands and arms above your heart the blood will quickly flow back to your heart. ...Read more

Typically, i see varicose veins in young people as a result of inheritance or something they were born with. A sedentary life style does not cause varicose veins. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
