Quite a bit...: Uti: increase frequency, urgency, and burning on urination, even at night. Possible change in odor and color of urine. Maybe some incontinence of urine as well. Early pregnancy: many women feel nothing except missing period. Some have morning nausea, tender/swollen breasts, increase urination but no burning, and food aversion/cravings etc... Check a hpt. Get treated: A UTI is really not a problem if treated. Get you physician to get a culture to make sure when they give you antibiotics, they will take care of the infection. If still having a problem, some people will repeat the culture a few weeks later to make sure it resolved.
UTI and pregnancy: The immune system of pregnant women is lower than that of women who are not pregnant; infections have more difficulty resolving on their own.
Visit your MD!: Sooner you get the infections out of your system... The better it is for both of you! Little petty infections might turn big down the road for your little one! Regards and best of luck on your pregnancy ;).
Suppression: If you are having recurrent infections, you should discuss suppressive therapy (antibiotics) with your healthcare provider. Hydrate, Probiotics: Staying well hydrated is a simple way to decrease the frequency of urinary infections. A probiotic supplement, supplying "healthy" bacteria, may help restore balance to the bacterial population in the intestine, and has the added benefit of reducing yeast infections. Yogurt is a good example of a probiotic, also supplying a calcium source. Cranberry tablets have protective benefits, too.
Take HPT to know.: pregnancy - may have breast swelling & tenderness, food aversions, nausea. Repeat the test: Uti will not cause the test to be invalid.
Get tested: Untreated utis can lead to kidney infections which can lead to preterm labor. Ovarian cysts and utis do not directly affect the fetus.
Infection: Can cause infection in your blood, infection around baby, premature labor.... Highly reccomend you treat it.
