Plantar fasciitis??: Your heel pain is a protective mechanism designed to limit the amount of pressure and damage to your heel. If you continue to walk on it the damage will increase and cause further pain. Taking the ibuprofen may aid in some of the reactive inflammation but it does not attack the problem, in fact it may only mask the problem. Is the first thing I would suspect. The fungi eat skin, and can leave holes. Tinea pedis (to sound nerdy) is easily fixed with a topical anti fungal, such as tolnaftate. Go for the generics, they're cheaper.
