Had my thyroid removed in 2010 due to papillary cancer. Current levels r TSH .15 ft4 1.2... Why can I not loose weight? Gain 20lbs since operation.

Probably not: Due to thyroid. What is free t3 (liothyronine). That is hormone free to act in body. If it is low then you are still low. But doubt it. You are just taking in more calories than your body needs to function. Either eat less or exercise more. ...Read more

Left side pain during intercourse, family history with cancer and cyst problems, also have headaches, tiredness, and weight gain tummy. Plz help!?

What a mix!: I am not sure if all the symptoms you listed are related, but I would start with seeing a medical provider. Start with a comprehensive history intake and physical exam. You may need vaginal exam to rule out problems causing painful intercourse. Maybe some blood studies to rule out fatigue causes. Urinalysis/culture may be helpful to determine ongoing bladder issues. Have your provider work u up. ...Read more

Haven't had solid bowl movement more than 8 months pain & feel mass upper abdomen weight gain dad has colon cancer & aunt has stomach cancer worried?

Lots of issues...: You're describing many systemic concerns, but its impossible to tell here if your symptoms are all due to organic/metabolic disease or even related. Granted, your family history is notable, ; may indicate lynch syndrome. A thorough history ; physical with some simple investigatory lab studies ; x-rays would be a great place to start in getting the answers, reassurance ;/or treatment you need. ...Read more

Symptoms of cancer: Your sx not necessarily related to cancer. Joint pain, fatigue, nodes can be infection. When you have CA you are not really prone to infections until you start treatment. Most pts with CA will actually loose weight, not gain. Blood work will not find CA for most kinds of CA. I am a survivor of breast cancer and my mother died of ovarian cancer. I have been experiencing a lot of bloating, constipation and weight gain. What should I do?

Abdominal exam first: The obvious concern is to first rule out an ovarian cancer- with a good gyn and abdominal exam, ct, and ca-125 tumor marker. With personal history of breast cancer before 38 and mother with ovarian, brca testing should be done. Treatments options will follow from there and may include removal of ovaries and uterus, prophylactic mastectomy and/or close surveillance. ...Read more
