Doctor insights on:
The Benefits Of Liquid Geritol
Not likely: I've not heard of anyone taking geritol liquid to stop a period. I'm assuming you are talking about the vitamin supplement, that is advertised for seniors. If you are sexually active consider checking a pregnancy test if you missed your period.
It couldn't hurt.: Geritol, or any vitamin supplement could help you conceive, in particular if you had some vitamin or iron deficiency that it helped to correct. However, if you have been unable to get pregnant, and have been trying for 12 years, then I feel you really need to see a doctor to talk with you, examine your, and do some tests to help figure out what is the problem.
I take Geritol Liquid, dayquil severe cold and flu (vicks) for 1day, Emergen-C, and Centrum supplement. Does any of those affect my birth control?
No: Multivitamins do not affect BCP. Antibiotics can!
From where?: From where are you bleeding? Nose? Gums? Rectum? Penis or vagina (you didn't state gender)? Geritol is a brand of vitamins (http://www. Geritol. Com/) marketed towards elderly when I was growing up. Regardless, vitamins shouldn't make you bleed. So you need to go see your family doctor for an evaluation. If you feel lightheaded, faint, dizzy, as if you might pass out, call 911 & unlock front door
No: Geritol is a group of vitamins for the elderly. Most multivitamins have very low dosis of vitamins in each pill so most of the time is not dangerouse to take them. Unless you have a serous disease of the kidney or liver or allergy to any of the components of geritol most likely won't hurt.
Where from? How much: Geritol is moot when it comes to bleeding. Seek help if you feel weak, woozy, dizzy, lightheaded etc which suggests anemia from blood loss. You didn't indicate your gender or where from you are bleeding, nor how much (difficult to quantify). Menstrual bleeding is expected monthly. Blood in urine or stool should be evaluated. Nose bleeds are common. Sorry but we need more info.
Geritol: Geritol (http://www. Geritol. Com/) is a brand of multivitamins. As such, they're meant to be taken daily w/o regard to your cycle. So it really doesn't matter. Just do it. Well, that's assuming that you believe that multivitamins will make a difference (although no such research evidence exists yet). Instead, focus on eating healthy, exercising regularly & getting enough quality sleep.
Ask your doctor: Truthfully, it really doesn't matter. We used to associate the elderly w/Geritol. But presumably you're female (you didn't describe your gender although you mentioned your cycle) so you probably lose a bit of iron w/your menses, which is where Geritol comes in. Realistically, if that's the case, it really doesn't matter when you start, since we don't cycle vitamins as much as take them daily.
Not really: Geritol is a multi-vitamin supplement and as such has minimal caloric value. A better bet would be to add an extra 500 calories of healthy food to your diet on a daily basis. This would increase your weight by about a pound a week if everything else was kept stable. Taking the vitamin alone will not stimulate weight gain.
Hello.: Hello. Geritol is a brand of multivitamin which has extra iron and is manufactured by glaxo-smith-kline. Iron content is between 9.5 mg and 16 mg in tablets and liquid has 18 mg. It has been touted to help women become pregnant (anecdotal) however the average prenatal vitamin has about 30 mg of iron. Prenatal vitamins also have higher doses of Folic Acid which is very important. If you plan to get pregnant, prenatal vitamins are the way to go because of the added folate (folic acid).
