My wife had tetanus shot 8 days ago but pain and stiffness in the muscle remains unchanged. What is going to happen and what shall we do? (F, 33)

take acetaminophen: Are the aches & pains just starting after 3 days? Then likely a separate issue; need more info. How is the finger? It should be much better. I'm assuming it was not a deep cut since you didn't mention stitches. If the aches are from the vaccine, just take acetaminophen. It is possible that you have a secondary bacterial infection from the puncture wound, and may need antibiotics. Tetanus is very unlikely, and wouldn't present this way. But you should make sure that you are up to date on your immunizations-- tetanus is called Tdap-- adults need a booster every 10 years.
