Yes: Since it has been more than 5 years since your last booster, you should get one even though there are no signs of infection/inflammation. Make sure that you get a Tdap, as we now know you need pertussis boost as well and you would not have gotten that back in 2005. ...Read more

No; however...: The tetanus spores are surprisingly common in our environment but tetanus is rare; tetanus can not grow in an environment with oxygen so the only wounds that have a risk of tetanus are deep puncture wounds. Scratches will never cause tetanus, But you might get other bacterial infections like Cat Scratch Fever (Bartonella). No need: If you had a tetanus booster 5 months ago, you do not need more. It is not rust that causes tetanus, it is due to contamination with soil containing the tetanus bacteria/spores.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
