What can I do about white spots on my skin of my arm? It appears brighter when i'm in the sun.

What can I do about white spots on my skin of my arm? It appears brighter when i'm in the sun.

Many causes possible: Without examining you it is not possible to say for sure. Vitiligo can cause what you describe along with some fungal infections (tinea versicolor). When your surrounding normal skin naturally tans, the white spots don't, so they can appear brighter. See a dermatologist to help diagnose and propose a possible treatment. Why my 13 year old has dark marks in his arms and in one arm dark marks and two half inch white spots?

Long time or new?: If the dark marks haven't been there longer than a few months, this may be a sign of underlying medical condition--and a great opportunity to help his health by catching something early. White or pale spots may be a fungal infection (similar to ringworm) or other condition. Best bet is to have your doctor take a look. The doc may know immediately, or may refer you for specialist consult. ...Read more

I have white spots on my leg, arm, and hand. Is it possible to be sun damage? Should i be worried about ir?

Tinea versicolor: It's possibly tinea versicolor. It's caused by a fungus, which blocks the sunlight from activating the melanocytes (pigment cells) in your skin. With sun exposure, the skin around it tans but the fungal area stays white. You'll need a doctor's examination for a diagnosis.http://www.aad.org/dermatology-a-to-z/diseases-and-treatments/q---t/tinea-versicolor. ...Read more

What are the signs of a fungal infection? My back and upper arm is so itchy and its having a white spots like a map

What are the signs of a fungal infection? My back and upper arm is so itchy and its having a white spots like a map

Depends on type: Candida/yeast is creamy white, tends to occur in skin folds, groin, under breasts. Tinea versicolor doesn't tan, has irregular borders, slightly scaly edges. Tinea corporis/ringworm starts as red spot that grows outward in ring shape; edge is raised, scaly; center appears normal. Vitiligo (not a fungus) is patches of hypopigmentation. Skin scraping & test for fungus by doc can be a start. ...Read more

Numbness in left hand, bottom part of arm, bottom part of leg and left side of face.Mri showed white spots on brain, LP was negative for ms.

MS or not MS?: Iit is hard to find the cause of a symptom of tingling. The changes on your MRI could be related to your symptoms. Tonsils swell and have white spots everytime I get a cold. Strep test comes back sometimes positive and other times negative. Is this normal?

I have white spots on my tonsils, but no fever and i'm not feeling sick. I had a strep test done 2 weeks ago and it came back negative.?

Normal tonsils: Adult tonsils have crypts, which make little tonsil stones. These are the white spots. This is normal. If they are really irritating, an antibiotic might help to settle them down. If that doesn't work sometimes we do a tonsillectomy. In most cases if i describe the surgery to someone with a concern about these, they opt to leave it alone. ...Read more
