Discoid lupus: Dx is confirmed by biopsy. Also review medications r ,as some medications can cause a lupus like syndrome. Maybe rosacea: Malar flushing is most commonly caused by a condition called rosacea. Many times there is a positive family history of similar symptoms. Wine, spicy foods will frequently provoke the flushing. The condition can be mild or severe depending on the degree of flushing and how often it happens.
