Tests For Cervical Rib
A PAP smear: is the classical screening test for cervical cancer. In this test a brushing of cells from the cervix is stained and examined under the microscope. It may pick up abnormalities before they become fully cancerous. A molecular test for the human papilloma virus (HPV) may also be done on cells collected with a PAP smear. It is a very sensitive way to detect the virus that causes the cancer. ...Read more
Having persistent neck pain and headache for 6 months now. Negative results of brain & cervical mri and emg ncv. Possibility of colon cancer?
Unrelated : Metastasis from colon cancer would have shown up on the MRI. I would ask your doctor if you have muscular neck pain that is also felt in the muscles of the head or if you have a chronic headache that seems to radiate down into the neck. You cannot have both. The two are treated differently. ...Read more
I have unexplained shoulder, arm, and neck pain. Done 4 mri's, emg, and x-rays; all neg for causes. Done pt, cortisone/cervical epidural. Help?
Agree with Rheum App: Could be a pain syndrome like fibromyalgia or a complex regional pain syndrome. A good rheumatologic exam is important. Certain medications that are directed to this type of pain may be the solution for you as long as there are no other mechanical reasons for pain, like arthritis. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers

Not very: Chest xrays are not regarded as good lung cancer screening tools. Ct-scan, while imperfect, is currently the best demonstrated screening tool for lung cancer. Back pain for 7+ years. Xray CT scan and tests for myloma, sclerosis, arthritis are clear. What should I ask to be tested for next? Also MRI booked.
What other tests could be done after urine stool tets, blood tests ultrasound with 2 CT scans and upper endoscopy for abdomen and pelvis pain?
It depends: At time it is difficult to elucidate the cause of pain. It sounds as if you have had multiple tests performed with no answer? It is best to speak with your physician about any further testing. If he/she can`t seem to find a cause i always tell my patients to consider speaking with another doctor for a second opinion. ...Read more
8years ago I did ct scan for head
5years Xray for kidney
2months panoramic Xray for teeth
2week Xray of spine
2days mri of spine
Can this cause cancer?
No: All x-ray exposure is cumulative, but doses are minimized as much as possible. your Panoramic x-ray, for example, is less radiation than you would receive spending a day in the mountains, or two on the beach. If you are concerned, schedule an appointment with your General Physician for evaluation. ...Read more
Thorax röntgen negative for Tuberculosis. Two months irregular left chest pain radiating to back. ECG, Holter normal. Which tests should be used - TB?
Unlikely: It is unlikely that the chest pain you describe is owing to pulmonary tuberculosis. Get a mantoux (skin test) for tuberculosis. If it is negative, you do not have TB especially given your normal chest X-ray. Where you exposed to someone with active TB? If you were you need to work with your doctor and public health to make sure everyone is covered. ...Read more
Neurology blood tests normal for back pain, would this possibly rule out a spinal Tumor? Or point towards not having one? Thanks, MRI booked
A mid back MRI ordered for history of 8 mo abdominal pain, right flank pain, 3 CT scans neg. How likely is it that the abd pain is spinal related?
Causes a pea size painful cervial lymph node, no infection present. Lots myofascial neck pain and shoulder pain and swelling on that side. Normal CBC, C-spine MRI, ultrasound done 6 months ago. Any other tests tests would be helpful?
Probably normal: Small lymph nodes (like pea-size) are normal. Most likely it was inflamed and maybe now scarred from some distant past infection. Probably unlreated to your pain problem. Check with your doctor if you remain concerned -- but if she reassures you all is well, then no more tests or exams will be necessary. ...Read more
If you tested positive for mage4 on a early cdt lung blood test and have +ana 1:640 and elevated sed. Clear chest CT and MRI spine ok. Cancer?
Check with your doc: Mage4 on a early cdt lung blood test was ordered by a doc, although you do not seem to be a high risk patient and you probably do not smoke 3 packs daily. Therefore the test was not necessary and now we have false positive result. You may have some form of lupus, or sle, or something else. I highly doubt that you have cancer. However, check with your doc to be safe. Ask why the test was necessary. ...Read more
