Nerve: During the repair of the umbilical hernia nerves were severed and damaged and are growing back for months and can cause those symptoms. However if RUQ discomfort persists or worsens, I recommend that you consult your abdominal surgeon for evaluation and advice. ...Read more

I have tingling following the path of a nerve in my head I also have emotional bluntness, What diagnostic test could help understand what's wrong w/me?

I have tingling following the path of a nerve in my head I also have emotional bluntness, What diagnostic test could help understand what's wrong w/me?

History & physical: Tingling along a single nerve is usually from a mechanical blockage, less often a vascular problem; at your age if you're not a diabetic and not obvious sick with something else, this is most unlikely. There's no labs for "emotional blunting" -- if you're working, playing & loving others & reasonably happy, your emotions are probably right for you; regardless, labs / imaging aren't the key here. ...Read more

Is recurrent 1 sided tingling over many, many months benign? I did mention this to my doc and he wasnt concerned N did no test. Should I worry? Stroke

Probably not: In your age group stroke is not common unless underlying illness, which you don't mention. But that doesn't mean there isn't something going on inside the brain itself for which MRI is the most sensitive. Without mentioning all those diseases suffice it to say talk it over with your doctor and put yourself at ease ...Read more

What could be the cause of tingling, itching, crawling sensation in 40 years old if no diagnose found on blood test, EMG, scans and physical exams?

I have had extreme pain, numbness and tingling for 2 yrs. I am 27 and have had an MRI and other test and found nothing. What can I do? It hurts lots

Concerning: Fibromyalgia can explain the diffuse pain but is usually not associated with numbness/tingling. Where are these symptoms felt? Arms, legs, all over? You probably need neurodiagnosis testing to see where the nerve dysfunction is coming from. This can greatly assist in getting down to the proper diagnosis, so an appropriarte treatment plan can be developed. ...Read more

I did the test of raising both hands upwards and closing/opening hand grip, i had tingling in my left hand, does this indicate ThoracicOS?

Possibly: You are right in saying that the complaints you are describing can be consistent with thoracic outlet sydrome. If you are having enough symptoms to warrant treatment, I would not hesitate to be seen and an exam and appropriate studies will usually determine the diagnosis. ...Read more

Don't know exact prior height but feel like I've grown a few inches @ 36. What happened? Had some arm tingling & dizziness but all tests/MRIs normal.

A good feeling: It's usually a good feeling to seem to be standing 3 inches taller. On the other hand, it's not a good feeling to be standing 3 inches shorter. Good posture can make one feel taller. Confidence can do it. High heels can do it. Being around shorter people can do it. Lower ceilings can do it. Of course one's official height is not taller, as growth has finished by the late teen or early adult years. ...Read more

I have had a tingling itchy rash on and off for a year. Lots of tests later, they think it is perimenapausal hormones. Any thoughts?

It is possible!: Good morning, hormonal changes can be related to many nerve-related symptoms, as many agents that are involved in itching are mediators related to releasing of chemical compounds from nerve endings. Dryness can precipitate an itch. Itch leads to scratch and release of mediators such as histamine. Moisturizing creams (not lotions) may help reduce symptoms. ...Read more

27 yo female c/o vertigo spells last 40 or less seconds w/ tingling legs and hearing "shifts"? cardio tests were normal any suggestions?

Vertigo is a symptom: Vertigo is just a name for a sensation of movement when there shouldn't be. By far the most common cause of true spinning vertigo is ear problems. If you're hearing something at the time also then an ear problem is very likely. More info is needed to answer your question but try doing toe raises when you get dizzy to raise your blood pressure. If that doesn't help probably an ear problem ...Read more
