Probably normal: Small lymph nodes (like pea-size) are normal. Most likely it was inflamed and maybe now scarred from some distant past infection. Probably unlreated to your pain problem. Check with your doctor if you remain concerned -- but if she reassures you all is well, then no more tests or exams will be necessary. ...Read more

Ten days out surgery to repair both meniscus in left knee, ankle and foot swollen. Sonogram for clot negative. What to do for normal?

Ten days out surgery to repair both meniscus in left knee, ankle and foot swollen. Sonogram for clot negative. What to do for normal?

Rest, ice & elevate!: Some swelling after surgery is normal. The amount and location may not be. The type of surgery is important, but post-op care is a very big factor. Simple ice and elevation with range of motion exercises when called for can prevent or reduce swelling. Sometimes rest alone with elevation of the feet to eye level for several days will do it. Joint surgery usually requires motion to heal properly. ...Read more

Thorax röntgen negative for Tuberculosis. Two months irregular left chest pain radiating to back. ECG, Holter normal. Which tests should be used - TB?

Unlikely: It is unlikely that the chest pain you describe is owing to pulmonary tuberculosis. Get a mantoux (skin test) for tuberculosis. If you were you need to work with your doctor and public health to make sure everyone is covered. ...Read more

ER last night, Dr. dx: Right Knee sprain. x-ray, ok, exam and his stretching very painful, does x-ray show torn ligaments, should MRI be done?

No: No X-rays definitely do not show soft tissue structures, only bone. I would follow up with an orthopedic surgeon, a detailed exam would likely yield a likely diagnosis and whether it not an MRI would be indicated. ...Read more
