This is very serious: Testosterone levels are only one part of the picture. I suspect you have a prolactinoma in the pituitary gland, but other possibilities include a mutation affecting androgen receptors, XXY, hemochromatosis, and a few dozen others. Testosterone: Testosterone is higher in AM than PM. 317 in the afternoon is probably normal. In the AM, a value of 317 is borderline. Low T can be from obesity, many medications, elevated prolactin, etc. See your doctor, but do not jump into testosterone treatment without a thorough workup. Shouldn't . . .: Thyroid controls metabolism but not sexual development or maturation. Pituitary controls both thyroid & testes but if he's only missing thyroid, then testes should be ok.
