Why does one of my testicles hang lower than the other? No pain with this

Why does one of my testicles hang lower than the other? No pain with this

That : That is a common and fairly normal finding, that the testicles may not be symmetric and one seems to lay lower than the other. If you are a man between 15 and 50, it is probably also useful to do a regular testicular self exam, to get to know what your normal anatomy is like, and the testicles should be consistent and stable in size and firmness, and if one or both become larger or change in firmness, or even seems to develop a growth or mass, that is a different issue and probably deserves a medical evaluation. ...Read more

Usually normal.: No problem provided higher testis is beyond neck of scrotum ;/or does not feel uncomfortable. Left is usually the lower testicle if one is lower than the other. One of my old professors said it was because most men are right-handed and would not have to reach as far for the right testis. ...Read more

Is there a pattern in which testicle hangs higher than the other and does abnormality in position indicate something wrong?

Is there a pattern in which testicle hangs higher than the other and does abnormality in position indicate something wrong?

More or less equal: Both testes should lie at the base of the scrotum and should be equal in size. The right testicle is often slightly higher than the left, however the difference should be slight. One testis much higher than the other is ok provided the higher one is beyond the neck of scrotum. Any testis above the scrotum is in a wrong position and a urologists opinion should be obtained. ...Read more

Why would one testicle hang much lower than the other one? Spermatocele cannot cause this right? Noticed my left testicle hanging low about 1 wk. Ago

Not abnormal: There is actually an interesting anatomical reason for this. Right gonadal vein empties directly into vena cava. Left empties into renal vein with slightly higher pressure. Thus the above findings you noted can be seen in some men with no abnormal findings. ...Read more

Can a spermatocele cause your testicle to hang much lower than normal? Have one above the left one and it is hanging abnormally low and doesn't retract

Can a spermatocele cause your testicle to hang much lower than normal? Have one above the left one and it is hanging abnormally low and doesn't retract

Spermatocele: Spermatocele is an abnormal retention cyst or collection of fluid at the epididymis (the "cap" on the back of the testis) or rete testis and depending on the size could cause your left testis to hang "differently" than the right. You should be examined by a physician however, and if bothersome, you could have the spermatocele removed. ...Read more
